SUMMARY:PRINTMAKING FOR BEGINNERS WITH EMBER ESTRIDGE
DESCRIPTION:In each week of this four week class\, we will build on printmaking skills. We will begin with foam radial prints\, move to carving eraser designs\, then get our own linocut pictures\, and finally learn to print words. At the end of this course\, you will know the basics of printmaking as well as have foam prints\, up to four eraser designs\, and four 4"x6" linocut blocks. All materials provided. There will be designs to choose from and you can also create your own. This hour and half class is for learners 16 and up. Younger learners may sign up as well but need an adult to sign up with them as we will be using sharp tools in this course.\n\nDATES & TIMES: 2024\n\nWednesdays from 5:30-7:00 PM\n\nMarch 6th - Foam Radials\n\nMarch 13th - Eraser Carving\n\nMarch 20th - Linocut Pictures\n\nMarch 27th - LinoCut Words\n\nINVESTMENT:\n\n$100 included all supplies\n\nABOUT THE TEACHER:\n\nI make illustrative art that is explorative and eclectic in nature. Using vivid colors and whimsical themes\, I seek to use art as a tool for coping and overcoming the discordant world we live in. Creating both sequential mass consumption pieces as well as stand-alone gallery pieces\, I desire my work to captivate a wide audience.\n\nAs an art educator in public Title 1 schools\, much of my work is inspired and created around the classroom. I tailor projects and lessons to engage and motivate students\, impacting my own art making in the process. The resourcefulness and inventiveness of creating art projects accessible to a wide range of students and ages allows me to see multiple possibilities for each art material.\n\nVisit Ember's Website: https://www.embersartwork.com/
